She joins Dan Kosmatka, Stewart Parmele, Mark Damon, Robert Hague, Nancy Sash, Susan St. Range, Rory Tosh, and Jeny Grupe in the firm’s partnership. KDP is also welcoming eight other employees to the growing firm and recognizing a newly minted CPA.

Denise Lewman graduated from University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She previously worked as an auditor for a firm in Los Angeles, where she was involved in the audits of nonprofits, manufacturing organizations, banks, and service providers. Denise has also worked in the Finance, Accounting, and Inventory management departments of small to large manufacturing organizations, including Harry & David in Medford. Denise has spent the last five years honing her consulting skills working with non-profits and for profits. She has worked with clients to improve their financial reporting, understand and interpret their financial statements, understand profit margins, forecast future cash flows, develop budgets, prepare for audits, analyze inventory flow, and ensure compliance with rules and regulations. One of Denise's strengths is turning accounting and financial data into meaningful information to inform better business decisions and planning.

Tracy Dutey earned her license as a Certified Public Accountant by the Oregon Board of Accountancy in 2018. She began her career at KDP in January 2016 as an intern in the tax and audit departments, where she provided a variety of tax and accounting services. In June 2016, she graduated Cum Laude from Southern Oregon University and accepted a full-time offer with KDP as an audit associate. She reached this CPA career milestone by diligently working on her education, passing the Uniform CPA exam, gaining practical experience and obtaining her Oregon CPA certificate and permit to practice. She was raised in the Rogue Valley and served in the United States Air Force. After the military, she returned to Medford and worked in general aviation. She then completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a focus in Public Accounting.

Shane Hunter is a new Senior Associate at KDP Certified Public Accountants, LLP in Medford. His career and educational background give him a varied and valuable skill set. Shane was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, and also lived in Hawaii. He has spent much of his career working for Southern Oregon University. He started at the university in 2011 as a Research and Reporting Analyst. Shane was then the Senior Financial Management Analyst at the university and served as Southern Oregon University Foundation’s Interim Director of Finance and Administration for three months. He studied Electrical Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology before attending Southern Oregon University. In 2012, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Certificate in Information Systems, and then his Master of Business Administration from Southern Oregon University two years later.

Kristina West joined KDP Certified Public Accountants, LLP in 2018 as a Financial Services Administrator. Since graduating from college, West has worked in law enforcement and social services. Her diverse career experiences make her an invaluable part of the organization. Most recently, West was employed as a Social Service Specialist in Medford’s Department of Human Services. In addition to conducting interviews, documenting client interactions and coordinating with local attorneys and court-appointed advocates, she aided needy families by connecting them with the appropriate community resources. In 2013, West earned an Associates of Science degree from Portland Community College. Two years later, she graduated from Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology.

Leslie Needham is a new Associate at KDP Certified Public Accountants, LLP. Needham has years of experience in the accounting field, starting her career as a Staff Accountant and Bookkeeper at other firms in Medford where she prepared tax returns for individuals and businesses, and coordinated fixed asset additions and retirements. She was also responsible for payroll tax reporting and compliance reporting. Over the course of her career, Needham has acquired several skills, including financial statement preparation and analysis, tax preparation and much more. Needham graduated from Southern Oregon University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is currently working toward completing her Master of Business Administration and will then take her CPA exams. Riely Novello was hired as a staff accountant at KDP in July 2018. She is a transfer student at Southern Oregon University in her senior year and is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She is expected to graduate in June 2019 and will meet the credit requirements to sit for the CPA exam. Riely obtained some experience in the field while she worked in Accounts Payable for JELD-WEN, Inc in Klamath Falls, Oregon. While she is originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, a series of life-changing events brought her to Oregon. She decided to go back to school when her career interests changed and is excited to start the next chapter.

Anthony Martin came to KDP as an Audit and Assurance Associate in June 2018. His responsibilities focus on analyzing company financials to ensure conformity to all necessary accounting regulations. He has lived most of his life in Central Point, Oregon, except for two years while he attended Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. While there he played baseball and obtained his Associates of Arts in 2015. He moved back to the Rogue Valley and attended Southern Oregon University. He graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Business Accounting and a Certificate in Business Information Systems.

Eva Shipley came to work at KDP last June and will be continuing her education at Southern Oregon University to obtain her Business degree with accounting concentration. She graduated from South Medford High School in 2009 and obtained her Associate of Arts from Rogue Community College in 2013. Eva worked at Human Bean for over four years before getting a job at Adroit Construction. She started as a receptionist in the Fall of 2014 and moved up to Accounts Payable in the Spring of 2015, where she began learning and developing the skills for the trade. Eva was born in California but moved to Oregon when she was eight, so she feels like Oregon has always been home.

Maria Macy is now a full-time staff member. She began as an intern at KDP in January 2016 where she has been developing the skills necessary for employment as an accountant. She graduated Cum Laude from Southern Oregon University in June 2018 where she received her bachelor’s degree in Business with a focus in Public Accounting, and a certification in Accounting Information Systems. She was an active member of the Social Justice House at SOU, and in the Summer of 2016, she studied business overseas at the University’s sister school in Saarbrucken, Germany. She developed a comprehensive understanding of international and European business practices while abroad. Maria was the Secretary of the Accounting Students Association, and Campus Ambassador for Becker CPA Review Programs, and is currently taking extra credits to sit for her CPA exam.
