Apland's Auto Body
My first experience with auto body was in 1981. I was given a high school graduation gift of a new paint job for my Datsun 240z . The owner of the shop allowed me to hang out for six weeks as they prepped and painted my car. I was hooked. Soon after, I sold myself as an apprentice to a restoration VW Bug shop. I was paid $25 for every fender I repaired. I purchased a few more tools and was able to secure a few small collision jobs I repaired out of my parents garage.

I headed south to attend Bible College. I landed a job at a quick in and out body shop to pay for school. Fun... but not too technical. It wasn't long before I was working in a Ford Dealership who chose to send me to advanced auto body training.

After finishing college I headed back to Grants Pass. I worked for Mock's Ford as a heavy collison repair technician for a number of years before moving into management. I managed the Auto Body Shop for 19 years. In 2009 during the recession we parted ways.

In 2009 I started Apland's Auto Body with my retirement and personal credit cards. Today Apland's has two locations, Medford and Grants Pass. We now have 19 people that contribute to our success. We provide continuing education classes for both office and technician staff. We have a 401K plan, medical, life insurance, paid time off, and fun company sponsored retreats.
