Ambassador of the Month
Tawny is the Event Sales Manager at The Schoolhaus Catering & Events, located at Bigham Knoll, which boasts seven acres of open space in the heart of Jacksonville with the historic 1908 schoolhouse as its centerpiece.

After moving to the Rogue Valley in 2009 from Eastern Washington with her family, Tawny became known among her friends and family as a creative planner of parties. She and a friend started Props, Please!, a photo booth business in 2016 , which gave her the opportunity to share her love of making parties fun with others. It also translated into practical experience that brought her to The Schoolhaus. From small meetings needing audio-visual support to weddings with several hundred guests, Tawny loves showing off the beautiful indoor and outdoor event spaces and sharing all the history of the building with clientele. Her favorite part of her job is meeting new people and finding a way to match their needs with the perfect space and menu for their event. In short, The Schoolhaus is a bigger forum to showcase Tawny's love of making parties fun! In fact, you should come down on September 29th to see Tawny in a dirndl for Jacksonville's biggest party of the year, Bigham Knoll's Annual Oktoberfest! When she is not "on campus," Tawny can be found at the baseball fields or just about anywhere the boys in Scout Troop 17 are! Her two sons, Skyler and Landon, aged 13 and 11, respectively, keep her busy and keep her young! From working as a room parent in both their classrooms and heading up the annual fall extravaganza that is the Jacksonville Elementary Harvest Carnival, Tawny is highly involved in what the boys are doing at school. On the baseball fields, she can be found in the dugout cheering on the boys or keeping score and, sometimes, in the concession stand making sure there is always popcorn on hand. The Boy Scout Crater Lake Council has taken a shine to Tawny's rising star and have recently appointed her to a District Level position on the Scout Advancement Committee, where she will have an impact on Scouts throughout Jackson County. Between the elementary school, Scouts, and baseball, It seems that Tawny just can't say no when someone asks for her help!  Tawny and her husband, Franky, met in high school and, as an exception to the rule about high school sweethearts, are celebrating a decade of marriage this year (for a total of 16 years together!) She has loved living in Southern Oregon for the last 9 years and enjoys everything the area has to offer, including rafting the Rogue, hiking the abundant trails, camping under the stars, and going to outdoor concerts. If she isn't outdoors, Tawny is indoors working on craft projects, with her specialty being turning the Westphalen home into a Winter Wonderland every December. She can definitely give Will Farrell's Elf a run for his money! Tawny enjoys being an Ambassador as it gives her the opportunity to meet other business people in the community and welcome new Chamber members.
